Welcome to SLPlayground. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Scala Communication Services ("SLPlayground," "we," "us," or "our"), and they govern your use of the website at games.slplayground.com and our speech and language games and related services (the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account or purchase a subscription. The Service is designed to be used by adults — speech-language pathologists, educators, and parents/caregivers — including for use with children under that adult's direct supervision. Children may not create accounts or make purchases.
SLPlayground provides games and activities intended to support and supplement speech, language, and learning practice. The Service is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, clinical, diagnostic, or therapeutic advice, evaluation, or treatment, and is not a substitute for professional speech-language pathology services. Clinicians remain solely responsible for their clinical judgment and use of the Service with clients. We make no guarantee of any particular educational or therapeutic outcome.
You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Login is provided through our authentication provider (Clerk). Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
You agree not to: share your account or resell access; copy, scrape, or redistribute our games, images, audio, or content except as allowed; reverse engineer or attempt to circumvent access controls or the paywall; use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights; or interfere with the Service's operation or security.
The Service, including its games, designs, text, graphics, and audio, is owned by SLPlayground or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for your own professional, educational, or personal use, subject to these Terms. Some assets (such as certain photographs) are used under third-party licenses and remain the property of their owners.
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), Netlify (hosting), and text-to-speech providers. Your use may be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SLPlayground and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide notice. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Montana.
